Zodiac Academy : Ruthless Fae Review

4.5/5

Zodiac Academy : Ruthless Fae by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

“Everyone knows karmas a bitch and today her name is Tory Vega,” – Tory Vega

After the horrors of The Awakening, Tory and Darcy contemplate leaving Zodiac Academy for good – but with just a little reminder the twins soon realise they’re made of tougher stuff. Revenge has never been sweeter and the Vega Twins set out to humiliate and devastate The Heirs. However with the shadow monsters on the loose they’re battling more than just celestial eye candy.

One of the strongest elements in Zodiac Academy is how genuine and ‘real’ everything is in terms of the sibling relationship, the dialogue, the girls’ thought process and the flirtation.

The twins also avoid the ‘Mary Sue’ trope in that they aren’t immediately all magical sorcerers and this is incredibly refreshing. They struggle to manifest their order and cannot immediately wield their powers.

Writers Peckham and Valenti added snippets from The Heirs and Orion’s point of view in this book and it’s just enough to have you begging for more – in so many ways.

It is also enlightening as you start to grasp The Heirs’ mindset and can attempt to understand their issues.

Meeting the Celestial Council is a pivotal moment and you encounter some key players in the world of Solaria which are sure to rip ours girls’ worlds apart.

The magical world is also explained a little more and mentions of broken people’s pasts and sordid secrets make the overarching story lines even juicier.

Ruthless Fae is a spellbinding sequel with extra sass, smut and supernatural superiority.

The Zodiac Academy is a fantasy filled drug and I am a total addict.
