The planet is in disarray and Juliette was born with a touch that can kill. As the world turned into a dystopian dictatorship Juliette was disowned by her family and locked away without human contact.
That is until she is given a cell mate by the name of Adam but this handsome stranger isn’t entirely unfamiliar and it seems Juliette and Adam might share a history. As her powers are revealed Juliette’s talent catches the eye of the cold-blooded Commander Warner – and he wants her to destroy the world.

As far as dystopian YA novels go Shatter Me does offer something different in the way it is written; Juliette’s thoughts are scribbled and crossed out by a way of truly understanding the way her mind works.
The original technique offers an edge and felt right at home within the warped walls of this novels but many readers may find it an unnecessary ploy.
As a lead Juliette is kind and considerate but lacks intrigue. Adam is a mediocre romantic interest but if you are even a little familiar with novel you’ll know he’s not the true love for our latest lead.
Warner stars as the villain in Shatter Me and although he may be handsome and powerful he is both possessive and, to put it lightly, extremely unbalanced. Morally grey characters are adored but at the moment Warner is so dark he’s gives Satan a run for his money.
Shatter Me moves at a reasonable pace but it’s the last few pages that will have you wanting more, the sequel is next on my TBR and I’m excited to fall in love with the real Warner.
