“I want them all – everyone – to know they can’t hurt me. I don’t flaunt myself for the enjoyment of men.”

Hideaway finds Kai on the hunt for Damon and in doing so he must deal with Damon’s formidable father, Gabriel Torrance.
But Kai soon discovers he’s gained more than he’s bargained for in the form of the enigmatic Banks.

Banks is one hell of a female lead; quiet but intrepid with an unpredictable nature and dark humour.
As the quietest of the horsemen, Kai is potentially the most intriguing; there is a certain darkness that haunts him and a sweetness he keeps hidden.

The slow-burn enemies to lover romance is a nightmare fuelled dream and crashes beautifully alongside the rollercoaster of a story.
Not only is Hideaway a thriller with secrets aplenty but a creepy atmosphere hovers over the plot and lends itself to making the novel even more of a stand out.

As with all of Douglas’ novels the sex plays just as much of a pivotal role as any character.
Each novel she creates provides spice that melts around every couple and Hideaway is no different. Both Kai and Banks have their own ticks and turn ons which Douglas uses to make the smut uninhibited and torrid.

Although a lustful and exhilarating read, Hideaway also confronts many devastating aspects and broken pasts. Both Kai and Banks struggle yet strive and it’s refreshing to see characters whose journey is only truly just beginning.

Smarter and slicker than Corrupt, Hideaway is a creepy cool thriller with a sharp male lead and ever sharper female.
