Erika is assuming yet bold and has the sheltered good girl act down to a T.
Michael is a menace of a love interest and pushes boundaries and buttons in the best way.
Dual POV is truly the only route with dark romance and Douglas nails both Erika and Michael’s inner thoughts with ingenuity.
Flashbacks came sometimes be a hindrance – even a bore- but within Corrupt they keep the suspense flowing and you’re just as intrigued about the ominous past as you are the present.
All the characters are captivating to read about but Kai and Alex in particular, are highlights. You are never quite sure who the true villain of the story is until the finale and this adds even more delicious suspense to an already thrilling read.
The spice is down right delectable. Aggressive and inviting and any author that can offer a threesome with as much nerve as Douglas does is a maestro.
The ending loses it a little with a slightly mawkish element but perhaps it offers some light in the intense dark.
Equal parts vicious and seductive, Corrupt is the first in the Devils Night series and with the final three Horsemen taking lead in the next few books, carnage is imminent.
